Dear Canine Friend,

I've been to Coventry Day Camp and it's really fun! I know that sometimes our owners come up with some dumb things that are supposed to be good for us, but this is not only great for us, it sure beats hanging around all day alone while our folks are away at work:

Here's the basic day camp schedule:

6:30 - 8:30 Check in and morning meditation. Nice time to relax, digest breakfast and greet old friends. We get to listen to "Song for Dogs". (no kidding!)

8:30 Let the games begin! Time to catch up on the news (and the smells) with your old pals and meet the new dogs. Listen to some country music and begin the gym session. Camp counselors showed us how to go over the jumps, balance on some long ramps, go thru the tunnel and lie on the "pause" tables.

10:00 Daily meeting of the CWF (Canine Wrestling Federation)

11:30-1:00 Lite snack and nap (The surviving staff really needs a rest!)

1:00 Obedience 101. Now don't get upset .. this is FUN!! We did come when called, sit and down stay, some heeling. No jumping is reinforced here, so you have it sit if you want any good stuff. We go to the trainers when they call us because they always act like it's such a big deal to leave your friends for a bit to run to them! Dogs with lots of training get to do Obedience 201 to practice their hand signals and the longer stays. (Show offs!)

2:30 Buddy Time! Free play (supervised, but not structured) with toys and pals of your choice. CWF often convenes at this time.

4:00-6:00 Chill out and cool down as you listen to some clasical music while waiting for your folks to pick you up. Lick your friends goodbye 'til next time!!!

Note to "parents": dogs have free access to water and "rest rooms" all day.
