Ruth Chase, owner and training director, has spent over twenty years teaching dogs and their people. After many years as a dog owner, Ruth got "hooked" on the sport of obedience! Successful competition with her own dogs, followed by several years in an apprenticeship with the country's top obedience trainer, gave her a good foundation on which to start teaching. Ruth went on to teach classes at all levels for 14 A.K.C. training and all breed clubs. She served as training director for 8 of those organizations.

Her background also includes breeding, match judging, writing articles for dog publications, training and handling dogs for TV commercials and print media. She has selected, trained and handled social/support dogs since 1968; a former director of the Baltimore-Washington chapter of Therapy Dogs, Inc., pet evaluator, administrative board member of Howard County Pets on Wheels, an advisor to the state of Maryland.

Ruth also serves on the Howard County Animal Matters Hearing Board, is a member of Delta Society, a charter member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club. Continuing education takes her to seminars, clinics and university sponsored courses on a regular basis to keep up with this rapidly changing field of canine behavior!
